Jonathan Barrett




Coach Barrett enters his second season as a member of the Varsity Football staff as Inside Linebacker coach. A 1989 graduate of Lucas High School he holds six varsity letters between football and track, earning All-Conference honors in football. Coach Barrett is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is in his nineteenth year of teaching the career tech. agriculture program at Marion Correctional Institution. He and his wife Vanessa have three children, Cole, Emma and Grant. Coach Barrett is the former President of the youth football program at Lucas. Last year, as head coach for the 5th and 6th grade team, he had the honor of watching his players achieve an undefeated season and M.O.C.F.L. championship. As an active member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, he serves as the Jr. and Sr. High Sunday school teacher and is co-leader of the Youth Group. His favorite quote is from J.J. Watt: “Success isn’t owned, it’s leased, and rent is due every day.”
