The 2017-2018 Lady Cubs basketball program held their recognition ceremony Thursday evening in the cafeteria. The varsity basketball team was presented with t-shirts honoring their Sectional Championship, their first since 1989, and their District Runner-Up trophy by the Lucas Athletic Boosters. Coach Grover presented commemorative game balls to Morgan Spitler (3's in a season - 38) and Jessica Grover (points in a season - 518) for the new school records set during the team's run to an appearance in the District Championship.

Presented with 7th grade certificates by Coach Mottayw were: Morgan Alberty, Sydnee Blackledge, Mariss Caugherty, Shelby Grover and Rylie Lane. Receiving their 8th grade certificates were: Kylie Collins, Ryan Culler, Kylea Foss and Tori Sauder.

Coach Arnold presented Participation Certificates to: Tori Harvey, Kali Nolen, Lucai Herrero, Annabelle Wan and Maddison Spohn. 1st Year Letters were presented to: Jamie Grover, Kiara Keiser and Kennedy Page. 2nd Year Letters were received by: Jessica Grover, Paige Arnold, Morgan Sweat, Morgan Spitler, Kayla Hignite and Ashley Robertson.

Captain's Pins were presented to Ashley Robertson, Paige Arnold and Jessica Grover. A Manager's Pin was presented to Cheyenne Lyons.

Special Awards presented to the team were: MVP: Jessica Grover, Defensive Player of the Year: Jamie Grover, Team Player Award: Kiara Keiser, Most Improved: Kali Nolen, Coaches' Award: Kayla Hignite & Morgan Sweat.

The Superman Award, presented in memory of Shelby Cooper, was presented to Kennedy Page.
