10/9/09 Lady Cubs drop exciting Volley for a Cure match to Crestline
Many thanks to everyone who participated last evening (October 8th) at the Volley For a Cure match versus the Lady Bulldogs of Crestline. Many great prizes and an awesome array of pink baked goods were raffled away to raise hundreds of dollars, all of which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Lady Cubs played with their hearts last night, and it showed, as they dropped a close match to the Bulldogs by the scores of 22-25, 11-25, 23-25. The Cubs recorded an amazing 32 team blocks led by senior Makenzie Sauder who had 10 solo blocks and 13 total while senior Kayla Aungst added 9 blocks. Junior Haley Rehbein added 9 blocks of her own and led the Cubs offense by hitting 13 of 18 for 6 kills. Amanda Collins was the top server going 16 of 17 for 10 points and 3 aces and Junior Taylor Stevens dished out 7 assists for the Lady Cubs.
