Spring Sports Recognized The Lucas Athletic Department recognized its spring sports participants on Tuesday, May 24th in the Lucas Heritage gymnasium. After a welcome and introduction by Mr. Teague, graduating seniors were recognized along with their parents/guardians who received a bouquet of flowers. First to be recognized in the evening were those students who had earned All-NCC and All-District honors.
Recognized for their efforts in baseball were:
LT McNeely: Honorable Mention All-NCC
Levi Harris: 2nd Team North Central Conference
Zachery Moffett: Honorable Mention District 9
Callen Thompson: 1st team North Central Conference and 1st team District 9
Recognized for their efforts in softball were:
Jaime Robinson: Honorable Mention North Central Conference
Paige Deal: 2nd Team North Central Conference and Honorable Mention Northwest District
Meghan Niswander: 1st team North Central Conference, 1st team Northwest District and OHSFSCA Scholar-Athlete
Recognized for their efforts in track & field were:
Receiving Honorable Mention was the girls’ 4x100 relay team of Amanda Collins, Zoe Zoll, Paige Deal and Brittany VanTilburg.
Receiving Honorable Mention in the 100meter dash was Brittany VanTilburg.
Receiving Honorable Mention in the discus was Dustin Porter.
1st Team honors go to your North Central Conference champion in the Pole Vault, Quinton Foss, who recorded a jump of 12’. Also receiving 1st team honors as North Central Conference champion in high jump was Quinton Foss, who recorded a jump of 6’4”.
1st team honors go to North Central Conference champion in the boys shot put, who set a new school record with a throw of 57’5¼”, Dustin Porter.
Those recognized for their placements at the Bucyrus District Championships were:
8th in the Boys 100 Meter Dash and 7th in the Boys 200 Meter Dash was Jacob Murphy
7th in the Boys Pole Vault was Dominick Strassell
7th was the Girls 4x800: Kaila Sansom, Erika Smith, Brittnee Slade, Taylor Corwin
6th in the Girls 800 Meter Run was Taylor Corwin
5th place in the Girls 4x200 Meter Relay: Amanda Collins, Morgan Yahney, Zoe Zoll, Paige Deal
5th place was the Boys 4x 100 meter Relay: Danny McQuillen, Ian Prince, Mack Reece, Jacob Murphy
8th in the Girls 200 Meter Dash and 5th in the Girls Long Jump was Brittany VanTilburg
